Report of the Quiz Challenge 2008
Indigo Public Affairs impressively retained their PubAffairs Quiz Champion's crown by winning the 2008 PubAffairs Quiz Challenge on the 17th April. This was their fourth consecutive victory.
With brain cells fuelled by food and wine generously provided by event sponsors DeHavilland - the one stop shop for comprehensive political information, 15 teams from across the public affairs industry answered eight rounds of topical teasers at the Barley Mow pub on Horseferry Road.
Indigo Public Affairs, who led from the third round, won by a full ten point margin scooping a total 67 out of 80 available points. FLA battled it out to finish as runners-up, with Bell Pottinger Public Affairs hot on their heels in third place. DeHavilland finished fourth, followed in fifth place by a team made up of individual PubAffairs members, The Innocents.
Perfect 10 scores were achieved in three rounds by Indigo Public Affairs, with FLA and Bell Pottinger Public Affairs scoring 10 out of 10 in one round a piece. The highest overall scoring came in the Music round with teams ‘beating the intro’ to identify the artists and track names to ten songs. In the Music round, FLA and Indigo Public Affairs scored maximum points, with Ellwood and Atfield, Bell Pottinger Public Affairs and The Innocents taking nine-and-a-half points each.
Other Teams taking place in the 2008 Quiz were (in alphabetical order): Chartered Insurance Institute, Connect Public Affairs, Mandate Communications, National Consumer Council, Office of Rail Regulation and Populus, together with three teams made up of individual PubAffairs members, Global Strategy, Tim’s Brother’s Girlfriend Is Quite Good and the X Chromosomes.
